subtitles no transcoding - sandyshells - 2024-06-10 Hi everyone having trouble seeing subtitles on android tv. Their suppose to be srt. files but somehow on the tv are show as ass. files not sure why. Recently download the plugin extraction subtitles but no change still no subtitles shown. Any suggestions from the experts. RE: subtitles no transcoding - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-10 In the Jellyfin interface, what does "Media Info" show for the movie/show in question? If you are familiar with the command line, what is the output of ffprobe on that file? RE: subtitles no transcoding - sandyshells - 2024-06-10 ok on original media info i have the following container: mkv size: 10.6 gb bitrate: 9.0 mbps video codec: h264 main video bitrate: 7.8 mbps video range type: SDR Audio codec: AAC LC audio bitrate: 320kbps audio channels: 6 Audio sample rate 44100hz just got ffmpeg and setup with command prompt but not sure what command to use RE: subtitles no transcoding - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-10 Not from the playback interface. From the main UI. The command to get the full metadata info is simply ffprobe /path/to/movie RE: subtitles no transcoding - sandyshells - 2024-06-10 i tried to post an image but i couldnt, kept getting error of format not supported. I will type it. Why did you think they would be SRT? Are you using OpenSubtitles or something? RE: subtitles no transcoding - sandyshells - 2024-06-10 from where i download it for some reason on my folder they end all in .srt but then i use handbrake to set them together and on the charcode says UTF-8 RE: subtitles no transcoding - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-10 Ah. Ok. So you have external SRT subs. The media info function is only showing the embedded subtitle track. Same with ffprobe. What are the file names for your external SRT subtitles? Do they conform with our documentation on external subtitle naming? https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/external-files RE: subtitles no transcoding - sandyshells - 2024-06-10 file names of the external srt are written basically in the language following the .srt . Example english.srt , spanish.srt . With your previous link on external subtitle naming, I'm assuming that if i write them in the correct form they might work ? RE: subtitles no transcoding - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-10 They should, yes. They need to be "movie name.en.srt" or whatever language abbreviation. The "movie name" needs to be exactly the same as the movie or show file name it is associated with. So if you have the "Atomic Blonde" movie the files names would be "Atomic Blonde.mkv" "Atomic Blonde.en.srt" "Atomic Blonde.jp.srt" And so on. |
