Hello - Looking into Jellyfin again, was a user a while back and wanting to find out how the project is going.

RE: The Introductions thread - PapaTrotsky - 2023-11-12

New to [the thing we don't talk about], wanted to create a media server with Jellyfin. I have an unRaid server running a linuxserver.io jellyfin container. I also use the server as a general NAS.

Mostly just lurking, but got annoyed the forum sometimes reset what posts I've seen without an account. Mostly made one to fix that.

First-time Jellyfin user trying to make sense of it all. Banning VPNs on a forum in 2023 is interesting. While there may be some bad actors misusing it, you'll also prevent those of us who need it from interacting safely.

We've had an ongoing flood of spam to the forum, who have been able to bypass every check we've thrown up. We've had to resort to a 3rd-party service (https://cleantalk.org) and what they ban is what they ban unfortunately.

We can't have nice things it seems.

it's not working so before you send more user data to a big data firm ...
can you setup trigger word ban/delete?

if you can't put your url in a post without getting banned it will become very difficult to spam your site
