RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - yara_greyjoy - 2025-03-29 I'm completely messed over now after this Roku update! The only thing I can access now is "Next Up" and "Favorites". Nothing else shows on the menu now. I have a Roku Ultra which is not the problem. What is highly likely to be the problem is my server is running High Sierra 10.13.6 on an OLD 2011 iMac 12,1. Apple has abandoned support for this model and it can not be updated to a newer version of MacOS. The Jellyfin server I have is version 10.8.13. I have tried to install newer versions and none will run, then I've gone through ALL the older versions back to this one and none will run. This version of the server is the newest that will run on my iMac. And now I'm completely left out. And NO, I can't just use the iMac to watch stuff on as it's in a different room. Can someone please help me? Can someone fix me up a server that will run on my old iMac? I can not update or upgrade this machine, it's locked into permanent yesteryear limbo. I can't afford a new machine, my retirement has been vaporized over the past month so now I'm freaking out about my financial future and there is no way in the world I can afford a new computer for the foreseeable future. I'm in a real pickle now and I sure would be eternally grateful if the gods of programming could whip up a version of the server that would work on my perfectly good antique iMac. Pretty please!???!!!!????? Thanks much! RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - hush404 - 2025-03-29 I legit created an account to comment that updating my JellyFin server was the key to solving issues with libraries not showing up for users on Roku with this release. I foolishly had my server running 10.8.11 and upgraded to 10.10.6 via CLI and it all went buttery smooth. Thanks to all suggestion this! If you are unable to upgrade your server version, you will need to run the legacy version: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-roku-legacy You can follow the Devguide on that page to sideload a Development version of the legacy app (2.3.1). I'm sure you understand though, that the legacy version is no longer being maintained (and missing a lot of features). RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - Nymbus - 2025-03-29 Hi guys, on the old interface, the videos I had stored on my server were displayed in folders, exactly the way I stored them on the server. Now it's all a big bunch of videos sorted by names. It's horrible. Is there a way to display with folders on thee Roku client, like it used to be... until yesterday? Thanks. RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - FoodieFood - 2025-03-29 Hi - writing to share that after our Jellyfin/Roku 3.0 auto-update yesterday, the app crashes to Roku home upon selecting media to stream from the "up next" section, which seems to be the only visible selection of media tiles on the main menu now. Also confirmed on iOS (Jellyfin Mobile 1.6.1), media is able to play normally and shows all expected content tiles, not just up next. Would anyone have suggestions for a fix or method to revert the update on the Roku streaming stick device? Thank you! The latest is 10.10.6. RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - mc1984 - 2025-03-29 Woke up this morning to read a bunch of people having similar issues. Their Roku forcing an update and now they can’t use their Jellyfin app. The entire reason I set this up in the first place was so that I had total control. This is absolute bullshit that these companies control and force devices into obsolescence that worked perfectly fine before. Now I have to figure out how to not only update my Jellyfin server but also my operating system. I was fine with everything the way it was and now it’s going to cost me hours figuring this all out again and possibly having to replace an otherwise perfect fine computer just so I can continue to use the Jellyfin service. This is an extremely frustrating situation. I know I’m not the only one that feels this way. Not sure why people can’t leave shit well and good alone! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! I was also a bit upset, I had to figure out why it suddenly stopped working. Then updating the server did the trick. But now the new GUI does not sort files by folder and this is super annoying. On the one hand they provide a free service and you can't complain, but forcing updates is not nice, yes. I was happy with the older app. RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - Soloman2469 - 2025-03-29 Live TV no longer shows the guide, just the channel list. I've been through the settings and if there is a way to bring the guide back I've missed it.
