RE: Casting Jellyfin through Tailscale connected device - Checkerknight - 2023-10-10 I was able to get it all working. With the help of a Chromecast with Google TV that I can install Tailscale on. That was the main issue I was having, the devices I wanted to use couldn't use tailscale as well, so I just went and bought me a couple of those bad boys and now we're golden! RE: Casting Jellyfin through Tailscale connected device - tparadox - 2024-06-29 I think I've casted to a device on the LAN from a Jellyfin stream over Tailscale, but the stream was too choppy to be worth it. I couldn't say if that was the fault of the hardware, the ISPs, or Tailscale though. In my case I couldn't install Tailscale on the Android TV box I wanted to cast to or on the router at the destination so I just decided to start downloading stuff to my phone to bring to the destination. Might be a dumb question, but you set Tailscale on your phone to allow LAN connections outside your Tailnet, right? I've had issues where I couldn't connect to other devices on the LAN with Tailscale enabled on some devices but not others, and that turned out to be a settings issue. I know this is an old thread. But Im having a similar issue accessing jellyfin through Tailscale on my pi4. With the Tailscale IP I can access CasaOS in the browser and login but jellyfin only gives this error "connection failure we're unable to connect to the selected server right now. please ensure it is running and try again" Any Ideas on how to go about getting it up and running? |
