RE: Casting Jellyfin through Tailscale connected device - Checkerknight - 2023-10-10 I was able to get it all working. With the help of a Chromecast with Google TV that I can install Tailscale on. That was the main issue I was having, the devices I wanted to use couldn't use tailscale as well, so I just went and bought me a couple of those bad boys and now we're golden! RE: Casting Jellyfin through Tailscale connected device - tparadox - 2024-06-29 I think I've casted to a device on the LAN from a Jellyfin stream over Tailscale, but the stream was too choppy to be worth it. I couldn't say if that was the fault of the hardware, the ISPs, or Tailscale though. In my case I couldn't install Tailscale on the Android TV box I wanted to cast to or on the router at the destination so I just decided to start downloading stuff to my phone to bring to the destination. Might be a dumb question, but you set Tailscale on your phone to allow LAN connections outside your Tailnet, right? I've had issues where I couldn't connect to other devices on the LAN with Tailscale enabled on some devices but not others, and that turned out to be a settings issue. |
