Thanks, TDP. I did as requested. BTW, I checked in the settings, and under Advanced/Networking, it did NOT have "allow remote connections to this server" checked, so I checked that. It also didn't have "enable IPv4" set, so I checked that. Restarted, but same issue.

Click Start > type in "Resource Monitor" > click on the Network tab > Expand the Listening Ports table.  Find jellyfin.exe, port 8096.  What is in the Firewall Status tab?  Should be "Allowed, not restricted".

TDP, thank you very much. It was a firewall issue. Although the install put a rule in, it wasn't checkmarked. Thanks again. Now I'm having problems with photos, but I'll do my best to figure it out and not bother you.

I'm also having issues getting the client to find the server.  Yes, the server is installed.  (Dumb thing to say, but I'm sure there have been people who didn't do that.)  This is on my wireless laptop.

When I run the client the first time, it says "No servers have been found using the automatic server discovery."  When I click on "Add Server", the next screen asks me to enter the server address.  There's a blank line for the host and underneath, it says "192.168.1.100:8096 or https://myserver.com".  Judging from what I'm reading here, 8096 is the port of choice.  When I do as you say here in the quote, I see that 8096 is "Not allowed, not restricted".  At this point, I'm not sure what to do.  I'm sure you need more info, so please let me know and I'll get right back to you as soon as I can.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security installed.

I'm using PLEX right now and would love to get away from it if Jellyfin is as great as people say.

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Kaspersky software. You'd probably have to add either jellyfin.exe as allowed or open port 8096.
