RE: What hardware do you recommend for running Jellyfin with a remote user? - Shadowghost - 2023-06-20 If you just want to transcode one or two streams, you do not need a dedicated GPU. Any Intel iGPU from 7th gen or newer will suffice - this will be way more power efficient too, even if you go with a beefier i5 or i7. If you go with using a prebuilt NAS make sure the iGPU supports all required codecs (since you're talking 4K, HEVC and HEVC 10bit are a must). I am looking for a model, that supports QSV, and has 1G/2.5G support. Any advise? Searching for specific models including specific features turns out to be quite hard, since many webpages don't list all features. |
