This is not a command you can manually run. I was just showing you the parameters in the service file to illustrate that simply running "jellyfin" would result in the error you saw in the first post. And that it was expected since so many options are supposed to be included.
(2024-05-28, 06:20 PM)huss Wrote: i also tried
Code: sudo apt list --installed | grep jellyfin
and output was
Code: WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in scripts.
jellyfin-ffmpeg6/unknown,now 6.0.1-7-bookworm amd64 [installed,automatic]
jellyfin-server/unknown,now 10.9.3+deb12 amd64 [installed,automatic]
jellyfin-web/unknown,unknown,unknown,now 10.9.3+deb12 all [installed,automatic]
jellyfin/unknown,unknown,unknown,now 10.9.3+deb12 all [installed]
it shows that they were all installed i am assuming, but i am not sure why it says all the unknown before current version. but also is that warning normal about apt does not have a stable CLI interface.?
btw all these commands are now bein run as root to try bypass any permission issues.
I don't know what causes "unknown", but I do know it isn't a problem (I see it on mine). Also, all the jellyfin packages are at the current versions.
is there a command i can run that will locate my jellyfin-web and my jellyfin.env? cause i must have it somewhere since i can access webpanel. as for jellyfin.env i have no idea.
edit i tried the find jellyfin-web & find jellyfin.env abd i get no such file or directory for either.

I'm not sure what jellyfin.env the other person was talking about. But I think they are referring to this file.
/etc/default/jellyfin
Which also has the location of jellyfin-web.

when i run the cat command on that location this is my output, does it look right?
Code: huss@jellyfin3:/etc/default$ cat jellyfin

also where it has Code: JELLYFIN_USER="jellyfin"
if i say change that to my user account, will it work and give me more jellyfin permissions for my user?
like on my old server i was able to delete a show directly from my web panel, now i cant.. not sure if its cause i havent added my user to the jellyfin group or not and if thats wats needed.
RE: Web Client Error jellyfin 10.9.3 - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-30
The output of your file looks right.
You can change the user, but you shouldn't. The issue is probably that the jellyfin user doesn't have write permission to the files and folders that your media resides in.
