"Replace all metadata" should "purge" the existing metadata. But there is no way to just "purge" metadata in the UI. You'd have to go into the file system and delete files/folders recursively.

It seems that editing metadata and then clicking cancel also properly loads the image.
I also have one instance of an actor who never loads when I click their photo. The page shows the loading circle and never comes up.

Checking back on this, if someone knows how I can purge all from a particular library that would be sweet.
