RE: Requests youtube chanel - Host-in-the-Shell - 2024-07-30 Now, what's wrong with the documentation? It's certainly way easier to browse and filter for any specific queries, simpler and quicker to edit and manage. I can understand perfectly if English is not your first language (it isn't mine either) that it can be somewhat of a roadblock, but even so the effort would be better spent on translating it rather than making videos. And I hate to be that guy, but us users tend to seriously underestimate our capacity to make errors, particularly when deploying, administering and self hosting complex software such as Jellyfin. Before we throw our hands in the air, blame all the developers and suggest they make an entire YouTube channel complete with video production, editing and other burdens to highlight and fix their mistakes, have we taken a step back and looked at our own? You'd be surprised how many of your wounds could be self inflicted. And even if they're not, Jellyfin is an open source project and you can contribute by documenting and reporting issues for whatever problems you've found. Let's keep in mind that a lot of voluntary work is freely provided when it comes to development and support of Jellyfin; if a legitimate issue is found, the best practice is to get involved and give back by documenting, reproducing and reporting bugs: that way the entire community benefits. |
