RE: Update troubles - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2024-07-19 Again, just keep in mind that for Scale, the app implementation will change later this year. https://forums.truenas.com/t/apps-update-2024-06-06/6041 iX-Systems promises that old Kubernetes containers will be automatically converted to Docker containers with the next version update. RE: Update troubles - DingleBob - 2024-07-19 roger, thanks for the heads up. an update from my odyssey: I'm back in the game. installing trueNAS Scale was inredibly easy. restoring the encrypted zfs pool also worked like a charm. I have never done this in action before, only knew the theory, so I feel like I've gone "through it" for real now. Installing jellyfin was also smooth. I have almost the exact state of things. My media is mounted in jellyfin and my TV, tablet, and Android are connected. external web is also working since I just had to change where the caddy reverse proxy was pointing to. Now I just have to install the extra plugins and create all the extra users that are gone. All in all it is not too bad, even though intbetween I felt like everything is lost. RE: Update troubles - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-20 I'm currently trying to convince an acquaintance to NOT install TrueNAS Core on the NAS they plan on building for exactly the reasons you found out. RE: Update troubles - DingleBob - 2024-07-20 tell them about the odyssey I went through. I can not recommend it to anyone haha RE: Update troubles - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-20 They have been convinced to go with Scale. Huzzah! |
