RE: RK3588 Hardware Acceleration - wiguelito - 2024-09-01

And how would I be able to verify if the av1dnode is enabled or not?

RE: RK3588 Hardware Acceleration - wiguelito - 2024-09-01

just tried using an old image to test, no diffrence. the old version i used for testing is 10.9.7

RE: RK3588 Hardware Acceleration - nyanmisaka - 2024-09-01

I meant the linux image is used by RK3588. Armbian, ubuntu-rockchip or something else?

RE: RK3588 Hardware Acceleration - wiguelito - 2024-09-01

O, I'm using debian from the social manufacturers with omv on it.

I meant soc

If only AV1 videos cannot be transcoded, please contact the manufacturer to have them update their device tree configuration like this. https://github.com/armbian/linux-rockchip/commit/d06d87ee891e6ea16c9500a386c3a2705d80ce27

RE: RK3588 Hardware Acceleration - wiguelito - 2024-09-01

last time i wrote to them and they didnt answer, but anyway i'll try again

RE: RK3588 Hardware Acceleration - wiguelito - 2024-09-01

i wrote in the forum of orange pi, lets see what they say, cause armbian is not thinking right now of making a img for the orange pi 5 max.

RE: RK3588 Hardware Acceleration - wiguelito - 2024-09-01

Thing is that with the test i performed, it was possible to convert the same exact movie that could not be transcoded into h264 with the ffmpeg directly, so i really dont get it.

RE: RK3588 Hardware Acceleration - nyanmisaka - 2024-09-01

I found orangepi's kernel source repo. They are indeed missing the av1d node.

RE: RK3588 Hardware Acceleration - wiguelito - 2024-09-01

Currently working to edit that. I'm no pro but haven't received any info from orange pi so decided to give it a shot. If I get to fix it I'll let you know, but it appears that orangepi has a big issue with this since my kernel has crashed for a third time by just doing apt upgrade.
