Anyone else experiencing these crashes using these plugins?

Try adding your music library back in first and see what happens.

Based on mine and another user's experience, I'm going to guess that is what's causing it. Though, I obviously can't guarantee it.

Well, music was added back in and its been running for over 2 days with no crashes as of yet, 2 media scans performed without issue.
Added back TheTVDB plugin, will see how that goes.
Hmm. Very interesting. If you could keep us updated as you add plugins back in, I definitely want to hear the outcome.

I do have Intro Skipper and I believe TheTVDB plugins installed, but I don't see how those would affect scanning the music library, but not the movies or TV show libraries.

RE: 10.11 cannot stay running - jevan223 - 2025-12-06

Update: So after running with TheTVDB plugin for days with no issues, I installed 10.11.4, playback reporting, and the skip intro plugin. random crashing again.
Disabled intro skipper plugin and will see what happens...

I still haven't added my music library back, not until it gets sorted out. It would seem that the TVDB plugin might be what's causing the issue as I also have that installed, but I'm not smart enough to know why. When I added my music library I only had "enable library" and "enable real time monitoring" checked, everything else was left unchecked and I still had crashing. Just putting that out there.

RE: 10.11 cannot stay running - gerardwood - 2025-12-07

I've been following this thread for a while, since I'm experiencing the same problem - after upgrading from 10.10.7 to 10.11.2 (and then subsequent minor versions, and currently to the latest unstable version), I'm seeing jellyfin.exe crashing roughly every 18 hours or so.

The jellyfin log doesn't tell me much, apart from that it crashes immediately after a database optimization - it appears to be after every second optimization after restarting the server. The log, up to the crash has the following (nothing prior to this for 6 hours):

Code:

This error has been consistent through the various 10.11 (and "10.12") releases.

Hope this is useful, I'm probably just repeating what has been reported elsewhere by others.

Thanks!

RE: 10.11 cannot stay running - owkia8787 - 2025-12-14

Alright, so I've been dealing with the server crashing ever since upgrading to 10.11.x.

I finally had enough of it so I wiped my entire install out and reinstalled the latest version, 10.11.4. I'm going on 2 days now of no crashing overnight. That's with movies, shows and music libraries all added in.

The curious part though is that when I set it all back up I accidentally added the wrong folders to my movies and shows libraries so I had to delete those and add them with the correct folder. The music library was still in tact. So when I went to add the new movies and shows libraries back in with the correct folder, both times it crashed the server with the fresh scan. To get them to work, I had to manually tell it to scan both the movies and shows libraries without doing a complete system scan. And it worked.

So I don't know exactly what is going on, but it does seem to be making it through the nightly scan just fine. For now, at least.

I will say that I haven't tried adding any new plugins back in, yet. I'll probably take a look at doing that soon.

Under Dashboard → General → Parallel library scanning task limit, change it from blank to 1.

The basic issue is that 10.11.x is more aggressive at scanning which is causing issues with NAS/Network based libraries.

Thank you! That allowed me to run a full library scan without crashing the server.

It's interesting because I'm running the server on my desktop with a i5 6600k. Not a modern CPU by any means, but still plenty capable.

Oh well, no complaints in the end if it works, which it does.

I just wanted to say thank you. This change did allow me to add back my music library and get through the scheduled scans... so far.
