RE: Help with transcoding - Deegee88 - 2024-06-09 Hey thanks for sending this over - I appreciate it's probably very straight forward for you but that confuses me. So I need to install this "igsc" on linux to be able to do this, but I can't just "apt install X" I need some CMake? and Ninja, so i've installed those but it seems i also need a MeTee library? This is going to be annoying for you but is there a simple 1-2-3 guide? haha or could you quickly write one out so i dont get it completely wrong? RE: Help with transcoding - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-09 There is a link to download the pre-compiled igsc files. https://github.com/Solaris17/ARC-Firmware-Tool/tree/master/Linux%20Build Save the igsc file and the libigsc file in the same directory. chmod 700 the igsc file Download the firmware for your card here. https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/intel-arc-firmware-compilation-matrix.312440/ You will have to expand the table by clicking on "Spoiler: Firmware Matrix" at the bottom of the first post. I recommend not using the first row, which is a beta firmware. RE: Help with transcoding - Deegee88 - 2024-06-09 Legend - thank you very much! Just performing a reboot now and will test transcoding to see how it looks and keep you updated! RE: Help with transcoding - Deegee88 - 2024-06-09 That has done the trick - now transcoding at speeds in excess of 5x Thank you very much!! RE: Help with transcoding - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-09 Fantastic to hear. I just happen to be updating my firmware myself and figured we'd run out of things to try since everything else was correct. Did you happen to capture what firmware version you were originally on? RE: Help with transcoding - Deegee88 - 2024-06-10 Ahh no unfortunately I didn’t I’m sorry! I should have taken note of it - if I have any future issues I’ll try to make notes of it all. Knowing me I will have issues 🤣 RE: Help with transcoding - Deegee88 - 2024-06-10 What I have noticed is that sometimes the thing I’m watching at the bottom goes all weird. Like it’s static on that part of the screen? If I close it and reload it, it disappears. So something is still not 100% RE: Help with transcoding - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-10 Do you just have a bad GPU? Reseat it in the PCIe slot and reseat the power connector? RE: Help with transcoding - Deegee88 - 2024-06-10 Maybe - I’ve tried that and it works fine for a while then just randomly goes weird. It’s only the bottom like 5th of the screen that it happens on as well… |
