That's what I was looking for. Delete that entry, restart the computer for good measure, and check if the issue persists RE: Problems running 10.9.x releases - Dex Luther - 2024-08-30 (2024-08-30, 01:52 AM)theguymadmax Wrote:(2024-08-30, 01:45 AM)Dex Luther Wrote: This is the only Jellyfin thing in that, I assume it's correct. Same result. I don't know if I should post the new log. It seems to be the same as every other time. RE: Problems running 10.9.x releases - theguymadmax - 2024-08-30 Might as well try removing the FFmpeg path. I added that one myself to easily use Jellyin's FFMpeg in batch files. RE: Problems running 10.9.x releases - theguymadmax - 2024-08-30 I managed to replicate your logs by adding the FFmpeg path the way I believe you did, though it seems that might not be the correct method. It should be added to the path variable. Code: [[2024-08-29 22:44:11.992 -04:00] [ERR] [1] MediaBrowser.MediaEncoding.Encoder.MediaEncoder: Error validating encoder Double-check that FFmpeg is not listed in either your user or system environment variables, and then restart your computer. After adding and removing the Jellyfin directory, I had to restart my system for the changes to take effect. It should be added to the path variable. I had the FFmpeg path thing in the system part (the lower box). Removing it and rebooting again seems to have fixed it. That's really weird. It's kinda like the TV not turning on because you put a post-it note on your fridge saying "TV is in the livingroom." 10.8.13 never had a problem with it. At least for playing stuff in the browser plays. JMP just plays the audio, but otherwise seems to lock up completely (I have to force close it). No idea why. Thanks for your help. My replies will be slower. Need to get to bed. RE: Problems running 10.9.x releases - theguymadmax - 2024-08-30 I'm glad to hear it's working! It seems like the issue was related to how you added the environment variable. From the first screenshot, it looks like you added a new environment variable called ffmpeg with the Jellyfin directory. The correct way would be to add the directory to the existing PATH environment variable. The FFmpeg paths specified in encoding.xml were deprecated in version 10.9. My best guess is that in version 10.8.13, the encoding.xml file overrode your system settings, but with the update to 10.9, it defaulted back to your system settings.
