Not even 1 file this it gives : Trakt shot themselves in the foot then blamed DEI. They have removed almost ALL ability for free users to utilize their service and put everything behind a paywall for $60 USD annually. They try to justify this change, which has angered far more users than they will ever convert to paid customers, on rising costs and what ever else, with zero understanding of just how much damage they have caused. And to this point, they continue to double and triple down on their new "VIP for DOUBLE the price" model while the system they are trying so desperately to fund implodes around them. I've been looking into SIMKL as an alternative. Haven't found if it's possible to export my collection for easier traking and calander purposes but at this point Trakt doesnt 'even do the most basic function of simply tracking watches through my server. RE: Trakt add-on not exporting new library additions to collection. - KodiUser1138 - 2025-02-05 No matter how much you point out that changes made by Trakt on Jan 21 have ultimately cause damage to users ability to utilize their service their little mob continue to point blame all other directions. Hopefully enough users leave or at least their threats to leaving cause the owner to take pause at his money scheme and reflect on what he's likely to lose. For now JF interaction with the service is poor at best and likely won't be much better due to the recent choices over there. Unfortunate but blame everyone else for your problems seems to be the norm these days. RE: Trakt add-on not exporting new library additions to collection. - TheDreadPirate - 2025-02-05 Preaching to the choir. Apparently Simkl has a Trakt import feature? But the Jellyfin-Simkl plugins needs a library sync feature. But this Trakt non-sense is bringing more attention to the state of the Simkl plugin. RE: Trakt add-on not exporting new library additions to collection. - KodiUser1138 - 2025-02-05 Yeah I've been looking at Simkl and trying to work it out. The main features I cared for in Trakt are the ability to of course trakt views, which it was doing in real time and is pretty cool, to be able to link multiple JF users to 1 Trakt account and, because Trakt would import your entire JF library, the calander function for knowing which TV shows had new episodes. I connected my Trakt account to my friends for the "social" aspect but that was really only minor. I set up the other users of my server with Trakt for the watched monitoring abilities as well, more as a back-up incase something happens to my database (again). I know there are a ton of other features and stuff Trakt does that other users enjoy and that's great, but I don't use any of them. I don't have streaming subscriptions and I don't need more places to bury my face away from actually enjoying my media and life in general. Not shaming those who find value in that it's just not for me. So for what I was getting from Trakt any inconvinience of site ads and what not were fine. This redicilous move to a paywall of $60 annual for just those 3 noted functions is hilarious and I'm not the only one voicing my displeasure there. Instead of taking the negative response with some reflection they continue to double and triple down, blame everything else for the self inflicted harm and bury their heads in the sand. Sucks but what can you do. So far with Simkl I haven't found a library export nor real time monitoring. It does seem to link multiple JF accounts though and it did import over my Trakt watches but not my entire collection. There's no real controls in the plugin for updating or bringing in your watches that I can find so it has less options available than Trakt currently does. But it's something and it doesn't hurt having 2 such services running at the same time right now. The site also seems to make it much easier to remove false hits to so I don't keep seeing recoomendations to watch shows I never have nor never will. For any frustration I have with Jellyfin I am EXTREMELY greatful for what it is and how much time and effort is now saves me. It's opened an entire new dimension to my media server hobby, the extension of my long-time media collecting hobby, and I hope to help make suggestions for future improvements even if I'm not a power user compare to others. And as always very appretiative of all teh elp offered here. I've been in other places, not dissimilar to how Trakt has been acting, where even just posing the question "why" gets you banned. RE: Trakt add-on not exporting new library additions to collection. - KodiUser1138 - 2025-02-23 To keep this conversation alive, weeks have passed and Justin the Trakt owner has shown his face in his own forum while still completely refusing to address the concerns from users and the many current paid VIPS who've epxressed their intent to cancel. Just completely tone deaf. SIMKL seems to be gaining some momentum but as yet doesn't have the same functionality. Will continue to monitor how things progress. I thank EVERYONE at Jellyfin for their hard work in keeping this platform free and open source even if you need to resort ot hideous ad banners at some point to keep the lights on. Let the giant mega-corporations fund things not just expecting more from the little guy. |
