RE: Library Scan Issue...?permissions issue? - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-10 What folder is your library pointed to? RE: Library Scan Issue...?permissions issue? - LinuxNoob - 2024-08-10 Movies is pointed here: /media/fcecda31-252a-462e-8cee-804315612700/Jellyfin_Library/Movies I've added a few folders to nest the movies based on your earlier post within "Movies", but only did a few initially to test by. I can navigate into those test folders past "Movies" when setting up the library, but I don't see the files if that makes sense. example, I can pick this when adding the folder path to the library: /media/fcecda31-252a-462e-8cee-804315612700/Jellyfin_Library/Movies/Love And Monsters This is one of the ones I made a folder for to test by and the movie file is within it, but the "scanning media library" doesn't move from 0.0%. I even tried moving a few files over onto the 1TB OS drive and pointed at it with no luck. I ran on an old laptop in a much older version, and it was pretty smooth and pulled the test files in fine. Windows would be straightforward with minimal setup, but I'm really wanting to migrate to the linux world as much as possible. I've got plenty of hardware behind it, running on this: I7-13700T (24 core) 32gb DDR5 1TB Samsung NVME 10TB Seagate Exos (SATA) RE: Library Scan Issue...?permissions issue? - tepsys - 2024-08-10 I would honestly recommend starting from scratch (up to and including reinstalling Ubuntu for your Jellyfin server) and just follow the instructions in the official Jellyfin docs. https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/installation/linux#debuntu-debian-ubuntu-and-derivatives-using-apt This really should be very simple and straightforward on linux as well. I am not sure why whoever wrote that guide decided it was a good idea to have beginners to linux messing with acl's or reverse proxies. Unless you are running many services and/or serving a fair number of people, these shouldn't be needed. And without experience, hard to reverse changes. RE: Library Scan Issue...?permissions issue? - LinuxNoob - 2024-08-10 Completely purged jellyfin and started over, just loaded the package back up and set my movie folder and it's already scanning. Thanks for all of your help, it is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ************************************************************************************* ************************TO ALL OUT THERE DO NOT USE THIS GUIDE*********************** ************************************************************************************* *****https://www.linuxbabe.com/ubuntu/install-jellyfin-media-server-ubuntu-20-04***** ************************************************************************************* |
