Greetings from the burning American West!
I am running Jellyfin 10.8.10 on a Win-x64 machine and viewing over my LAN to 5 TVs via the Roku app.
Where do I post a troubleshooting a question concerning issues with the Jellyfin Roku app?

(PS I thank God for Jellyfin!)

Hello, I"m Carly! I've been running Jellyfin for a couple of years and recently containerized it with podman. I use it for TV, Movies, and Music, though I'm running a separate Navidrome instance for music to feel out which I like better. I use the Roku and Android app mostly, with Feishin (desktop) and Symfonium (android) for music. I've been coding professionally for 9 years now in systems languages like C/C++ and Go and I'm hoping I can find the free time to contribute to the codebase. Smiling-face

Hi from Romania

I have a NAS server but I do not use Jellyfin. My goal is to get some information about a new server which will run Jellyfin also.

I wish you all the best.

Welcome! I was lucky enough to visit Romania over this past Christmas and New Year. We stayed in Brașov, which was beautiful, but took the train quite a few different places. Folks here can definitely help out with information on hardware for running a Jellyfin server. In most cases it doesn't take much!

RE: The Introductions thread - WuZiMu - 2023-09-22

Hey all, I'm Wuzi from Hong Kong/China depending on my work. I haven't yet setup Jellyfin yet, I'm hoping to run it off my Pi 4 with 18tb of Chinese content.

I am also blind/visually impaired, and a lot of my content is audio described, which is a separate audio track, with a voice actor reading what is happening on screen.
What is the best way for Jellyfin to serve up movies/shows with different audio tracks? MKV? At the moment, I just have 2 video, one with the audio description track, and one with the orginal English track, but it isn't very size sufficient.
Nice to meet you all!

Hi @WuZiMu, welcome! You may want to post a topic asking that question so that you can get the assistance you need. Short answer is that Jellyfin can provide that functionality in a few different ways. If you want to be more efficient in size, you could mux everything together in a single MKV with the two separate audio tracks. Another option is using external files where you could extract the descriptive audio to an audio format compatible with whatever client you'll be using, follow the naming guidelines, and store it as an external file next to the original. The latter solution might be preferable since you don't touch your original media.

Here's the Jellyfin information on external files. (I almost just posted the link, which is not a great practice for accessibility...)

Howdy from Texas, USA!

I'm David, but you can call me "teeth", if you know a dozen other Davids.

Currently running Jellyfin on an old computer I rescued from my job. I only have about 4tb of storage so far... Hoping this can expand if I win the lottery or something. But for now it's perfect for my music!

Nice to meet y'all!

thanks for this new forum format. if you need anything from an old, deaf, blind, retired curmudgeon, don't hesitate to ask. i'll add it to my lists of things "she" wants me to do.
