Hey folks, I'm Grady from the western US!

I'm currently running Jellyfin on Proxmox. Two instances: prod and staging! It's gone through a few iterations, and I doubt this will be the last. I'm happy to see a return of the forum format for the web!

I'm a software engineer by day, and dabble in infrastructure and self-hosted platforms by night. Just starting to get into what makes the Jellyfin web client tick!

Hey everyone!

I'm Jason from and I'm from TN! People have been referring me to try Jellyfin for a while now and I finally have the hardware to make it semi-decent. I can get it installed with no issues, but configuring it has been quite the pain... I'll make a separate post about that later.

I'm an infrastructure administrator for a global manufacturing company, and I'm hoping to get my hands dirty with more Linux as time goes on.

Glad to be here to try to make this work!

RE: The Introductions thread - Deleted User - 2023-10-07

greetings

i run jellyfin on a home server, Debian 11 Bullseye, inside a docker container managed by portainer

primary use is serving blu-ray and uhd blu-ray backups, both movie and tv show, completely remux for original quality

primary client is jellyfin android-tv, secondary is for my phones and tablets when not at home

i have a background in systems architecture and software engineering, been retired for a little over a year now but it gets boring

i have had side projects in electrical engineering but not professionally since the mid-90s

hoping to contribute where possible and gain more insight from those contributing

glad to see the forum up and running

edit -

since posting i am happy to amend this, my primary client has not been kodi for a couple weeks so cause for celebration and big thank you to the android-tv guys (niels esp)

Hello Guys!

I'm Cesar Bianchi. I use Jellyfin to watch my personal videos and photos and too share my content with my familiy who lives in another cities.

I have two instances of Jellyfin, running in different Ubuntu 22.04 virtual machines (over Oracle VirtualBox platform).
I usually watch my videos by Android jellyfin native app, Web Interface in desktop and through my LG webOS SmartTV using a DLNA resource.
Nowadays I have 2TB in a 600 files of videos stored in a local SSD disk.

That's it!

Victory-hand Victory-hand

Hello Fellow Friends!

I am from Nashville in South USA!
For almost a decade I was using Universal Media Player,
Because I like it open source, multi OS and catered to playback on PS3!
Ran it on various hardware over the years.

I have had my eye on Jellyfin little while,
and with a new server setup, with Jellyfin in mind,
I took the plunge!

Loving it ever since!

RE: The Introductions thread - random_human_being_ - 2023-10-24

Hey everyone!

Jellyfin user for 2-3 years, I made this account to ask how I can contribute to the project.
Currently the support for books in Jellyfin is kind of lacking. I would love to contribute to improving it to any extent in the medium-long term, but I am not sure where to start.
I have never programmed in C#, but I am familiar enough with C++ and Python, albeit for scientific applications.
If anyone has any suggestion on how to get acquainted with Jellyfin's codebase (or maybe just with the Bookshelf plugin?) feel free to reply/send me a PM/direct me to another thread.

Have a nice day!

Hello, I’m Don. I am evaluating jellyfin vs plex. Just built a tvpc using a hp elitedesk and a 8 tb external drive. I’m looking for info on managing collections

RE: The Introductions thread - cptguntner - 2023-10-31

Hi there, new to Jellyfin, not new to Media Servers, as I've been running Plex for years.  Trying to get Jellyfin running and the software dies after a few seconds.  Can't post in Troubleshooting yet, maybe i have to post here first?

Hi all,

Just got into Jellyfin (on Proxmox) and hoping to be able to play my media (mainly music) on different devices around the house (and perhaps outside, as well).

See you all around in the forum!
