Hope that helps.   I'm not a dev or anything just another user who is amazed by the sheer volume of fixes,  updates,  enhancements just dropped!

Ok, worked it out. It was due to the new bitrate setting that was enabled in the app, it was re-encoding to bring the framerate down to the max level of Roku device. However, since it was never a problem on the old app I've disabled this and now my files are streaming directly again.

Hi. Big thanks to the developers for the new release. I run Jellyfin on Linux Mint and the update worked great.

How do you remove the search filters for TV, Movies, and Home Videos? Only these three libraries feature the search bar, the rest don't, which I prefer. thank you!

Thank you so much for all of your hard work! Discovering this update today excited me greatly.

Let me start out by saying I'm not against updates. I get it, even though I've never had any issues with the Roku app that these change notes claim were an issue. My issue though is change for the sake of change.

The colors chosen are just awful. The blue/red contrast is painful to look at. The red buttons make it very difficult to read what the button says. There was nothing wrong with the previous color scheme.

Why change the next episode button to skip outro? I realize this is a minor thing but c'mon guys. You chose skip outro over next episode?

The back button while browsing the library takes you back to the first entry rather than back to the menu. Also minor but still an annoyance I don't recall the previous version having.

You wiped all of our logins and the new app defaults to localhost which seems like a weird choice for a Roku app. No option to search for servers?

To get to the season from an episode there is now an extra drawer that puts actors at the top. I want to see the episodes, not the actors. More drill downs to find the same stuff. I won't list all the others I've found but more clicks seems to be a common theme in 3.0.

I seem to recall an option to "go to series" that was removed a while back. That would have been nice for a major release.

1hitsong, You did that! I’m loving the work you’ve done, it feel like Christmas in July. The UI is WAY better!!!. I don’t even have to press the "*" button to search anymore, which was a bit vague before. It feels a little smoother going thew menu now. And audiobooks? Now you’re showing off! Smiling-face While it’s still somewhat limited, I can see the work in progress. Adding lyrics to the music (I use lrcget). I know Android and Android TV have already offered many of these features, Roku was lagging behind. I just want to say THANK YOU for bringing it up to speed!

There is some discussion around adding some "themes".  Letting the user choose between a couple of different color combinations.

The Next Episode button is still there.  But media segments take precedence.

On the home page the back button did this on the previous version of the app.  Within libraries the old version allowed you to use the "instant replay button" to do this.  v3.0.0 took a slightly different approach.

I'll need to double check, but "Go To Series" is still an option with v3.0.0

I'm running an iMac 12,1 - mid 2011 that Apple permanently locked down to prevent upgrades beyond High Sierra 10.13.6
I tried many versions of JF working backwards until I found that 10.8.13 installs, loads and runs. Nothing newer than that will run.
I can't update my OS because Apple says "NO! THROW AWAY YOUR OLD BUT STILL WORKING COMPUTER AND BUY A NEW COMPUTER!"
That would be great expect that over the past few months my retirement has been vaporized because of (actually I shouldn't mention why at risk of violating policies). Yeah, I had plenty of money, I was set for a comfortable retirement but then POOF! All gone! Now at just months away from 65 I'm gonna have to go grovel for some crummy part time job at Walmart for chump change that won't cover my utilities. Second job waiting tables at iHop I suppose.

New computer? Not in my future. Not unless someone un-vaporizes my retirement. My old iMac is old but it still works. I get my Brit telly fix that I watch with Jellyfin. There's nothing at all wrong with my iMac. Outside forces have made the decision that they will slowly shut me out of my computer by forced obsolescence. I drive a 20 year old mini-van. The paint is peeling but it still runs great. So far no one has tried to force me to buy a new one. It's very analog but it runs and I'm fine with that. I can't afford $50,000 for a new vehicle. I can't afford $20,000 for a used one either. I'll drive it until the engine blows up. I would use my Mac for another 20 years, if outside forces would allow me to.
It's all I got. It's all I can afford now, because it's long since paid for. Food first, computers last.

I feel you man! I am in a similar boat. I guess you got a couple of options. If you wait till tomorrow (April 1), the Jellyfin Admins are going to drop a Legacy App in the Roku store that hopefully should get you back up and going with your older Jellyfin build. If not, there is another option (that I will have to explore myself) if the Legacy app doesn't work, which is using a program called OpenCore Legacy Patcher to install a newer version of Mac OS on your older computer. Just do a google search on it and watch a couple of the "how to" videos. Seems strait forward enough. Hang in there man! Where there's a will there's a way!

Linux on your Mac is also an option.

Jellyfin Legacy client has been released onto the Roku Channel Store.

This is a legacy channel only for old devices/server versions 10.10.x and older, all others should install the Jellyfin channel instead.

This channel will not receive updates and is unsupported. Use only if it is impossible to update your server version.
