This is a legacy channel only for old devices/server versions 10.10.x and older, all others should install the Jellyfin channel instead.

This channel will not receive updates and is unsupported. Use only if it is impossible to update your server version.

Thank you so much for putting out a Legacy app! I'm back up and running on my dinosaur hardware. You all put so much into this and it really means a lot!

For example on Android, Jellyfin displays the videos stored on the server within folders, see in the screenshot attached, all fruits basket episodes are located in the fruits basket folder.

It used to be the same on Jellyfin on Roku, but version 3.0 seems to have removed this functionality. Now all files from all folders are all displayed displayed. It's a huge mess. You can search by filename, but it is very inconvenient.

Are you inside a collection?

If so, this same bug was reported yesterday and we've opened a bug ticket so we can get it fixed: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-roku/issues/202

Yes, all the folders are inside the same collection.

Hello 1hitsong,

It seems you have closed the ticket, but on my latest Jellyfin 3.0, I still see the problem. Is the fix going to be released in the next release?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure your client is updated to 3.0.1.  The github ticket mentions the PR that fixes this issue, and the 3.0.1 change log mentions this: "Fix displaying all episodes if TV series is in collection".

I just wanted to say thank you for the great improvements implemented in the new Roku release.
I had personally requested the addition of music lyrics support, and I really like the implementation.

I did want to report an issue here.
I'm currently running Roku 3.0.1 with server 10.10.6.

One of my libraries, for Music Videos & Concerts, now shows no content in the Roku client.
It simply says "No items found. Try adjusting your selected filters." But, the filter box has the default value of "All".

The library is still showing the 22 content files through the web interface and other clients like Android.

Sounds like there is already a fix in progress based on this PR: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-roku/pull/266

theguymadmax,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.  I did check out the ticket 266 you reference. It talks about an issue where the content traverses multiple subfolders. In my case, all files are in the single folder configured for the library.  I just wanted to provide that clarification to anyone who reads this. Also, I updated my original post to include screen shots.

RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - MarcPDaddy - 2025-04-10

I just wanted to say thank you for the great improvements implemented in the new Roku release.
In my house, the Roku is the exclusive TV client, so this is a big deal for my Jellyfin enjoyment.
You guys are appreciated, and I recognize the personal effort you put forward, even when people are complaining about various issues. I am impressed by how quickly you provide solutions to the bugs or the one-off set ups.

I did want to report an issue here.
I'm currently running Roku 3.0.1 with server 10.10.6 on Debian Linux.
I have a rather large picture library with a couple levels of subfolders that's having an issue.
When I use the new fields as shown in the screen shot below,

I can use the Search field without issue. However whenever I attempt to use Sort By, Sort Order, Filter, or View fields, the Roku client immediately crashed.
Let me know if I should provide any additional diagnostic info.
Thanks again.

Do you have any media at the root level, or is everything contained within sub folders?

RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - Sativex - 2025-04-21

I noticed when I go into shows and filter to show only unplayed shows it only lasts till I turn the tv off. Is there any way to make my filter choices stay saved?

On your Roku, Settings / User Interface / Libraries / General / Forget Filters
