Install Jellyfin on VidaaOS based TV (Hisense, Sharp, Toshiba.. etc) - Weinzii - 2025-01-09 Hi everyone, I recently got myself a VidaaOS-based TV and realized, after some research, that there’s no easy way to install or sideload custom apps. The old Code: hisense://debug method no longer works on newer models either. For this purpose I created after some research Vidaa-Edge, which makes it possible to install custom PWAs like Jellyfin. Note: Please use it at your own risk – it’s still experimental. For all the details, check out the GitHub page or the project website: https://vidaa.flummi.ch. Let me know if you give it a try! I have an issue however, none of my accounts are staying logged in and also nothing is direct playing. (EDIT The web app is making new clients every time?) Hi elliotthehe, I haven't extensively tested Jellyfin myself after installing it, but I was able to watch a full movie on it without any issues. It might be a codec issue. Perhaps take a look at the main post in this thread: https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-setting-up-jellyfin-on-a-hisense-vidaa-os-tv There's a guide on how to patch the web version of Jellyfin to support HEVC codecs, which might help resolve your problem. As for the client login issues, I’ll try to investigate this over the weekend - unfortunately, I don’t have much time at the moment. But I’m really glad to hear that my solution is working for you so far! RE: Install Jellyfin on VidaaOS based TV (Hisense, Sharp, Toshiba.. etc) - elliotthehe - 2025-01-11 No stress man, you're doing god's work. Hisense support are really useless regarding this so I am really thankful for this, hopefully we'll have a very good solution soon. Playback does work well but I just can't get DV to work, but it could be because of the browser itself, Chrome might not support DV unfortunately (2025-01-11, 02:28 AM)Weinzii Wrote:(2025-01-10, 04:26 PM)elliotthehe Wrote: Hi thanks for discovering this. It loads on PC and phone or any device except the TV. It loads but its a blank screen forever. Not sure why. Old debug method doesn't work for me. The project already had a PR addressing older Chrome versions since they didn't fully support the Angular framework. This could also be why Dolby Vision isn’t working, as it might only be supported from a certain Chrome version onwards. Alternatively, you might need to patch or enable it in the Jellyfin web version. Unfortunately, I’m not too familiar with Jellyfin myself, as I’ve only recently started using it. I’d recommend checking the Chrome version on your TV or searching for this problem in the forum, sorry! 😖 (2025-01-14, 10:28 PM)doctorprototype Wrote: Hey, A new version is live now that also supports older Chrome versions, which should have fixed the "blank page" error.
