Forced Subtitle - kalemvar - 2023-09-15
Hello guys,
I'm new here, I'm setting Jellyfin since few days, using various tutorals and everything is good so far except for one thing : Forced Subtitle
I have various movies/series with both languages (English/French),
Audio 1 - English - default
Audio 2 - French
now Subtitles
Subtitle 1 - English
Subtitle 2 - French
Subtitle 3 - French Forced
Now the question : If I put a forced flag to "French Forced" the Forced sub is playing by default, whatever I play audio in English or French. What I would love is like a dvd or blu-ray, when I select audio in English, the French Forced is off and if I select the French audio, the French forced subtitle turn on automaticaly, is it something possible ? by MKVtooknix or a features in Jellyfin ?

If you have external subtitles, I think you can achieve this behavior.

I have used your reference doc (external sub and audio)
here is what I named them
Film.mp4
Film.English.default.en.eac3
Film.Francais.fr.eac3
Film.English.en.srt
Film.Francais.fr.srt
Film.Francais.default.fr.forced.srt
The film is playing but no sound (both english/french) aren't recognized. The subs seems to appear but because the audios are playing, it's impossible to evaluate if the forced French subtitle is working with the audio track.
maybe a audio codec needed ? If I mux everything together using MKVtoolnix, the audios are working just fine.
