Shrödinger's Jellyfin? - PortableTheater - 2025-01-15 Hi, everyone. First time poster here, and trying to install Jellyfin properly. In case it's relevant, I have a late-2019 MacBook "Pro" with Touch Bar, with specs as follows: 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Intel Iris Plus 645 1536MB Integrated Graphics 8 GB LPDDR3 RAM macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 The first thing I tried to do was download the AMD .dmg for macOS, even though I don't have an AMD GPU in my laptop. Then I tried opening Jellyfin from Launchpad, and absolutely nothing happened. Jellyfin didn't open on my desktop, nor did it show up as an icon on my Dock. So, I then tried deleting Jellyfin from my MacBook entirely by dragging it to the Trash bin, but my Mac told me that 'The item "Jellyfin" can't be moved to Trash because it's open.' I tried deleting it from my Applications folder, but got the same result. Now I can't delete Jellyfin and start fresh due to some weird bug or something. Any advice? It would be much appreciated. Thanks! 🙂 RE: Shrödinger's Jellyfin? - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-15 In Safari, does anything appear when you go to http://localhost:8096? We actually stick an icon in the Menu Bar, next to the clock/wifi/etc. Is there anything there? RE: Shrödinger's Jellyfin? - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2025-01-15 Just for future reference, in the context of CPUs, AMD64 doesn't exactly refer to the company "AMD". It refers to the architecture of the CPU. In this case, it's the x86-64 that the company "AMD" helped developed. Intel later adopted it, so now both Intel and AMD CPUs use the x86-64 architecture (AMD64). The AMR64 download you see on Jellyfin's website is for the M-chips that Apple is putting out on their hardware. Get the ARM version if you ever upgrade to one of these. RE: Shrödinger's Jellyfin? - PortableTheater - 2025-01-15 Never mind, I figured it out on my own. Thanks everyone! |
