IP problem - Doom69 - 2025-01-22 Installed the Windows 10 variant but for some reason, I can't find a way to connect to it from other devices (local) the discover server tab on one of my devices remains just empty. Tried all the ipconfig ones that came up on cmd but they still didn't connect (also tried the task manager IPv4 address), did I miss some server settings? I remember I allowed it internet connection when installing RE: IP problem - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-22 During the install, there should have been a prompt to allow Jellyfin through the Windows firewall. But if your network interface is set to public, the rule would not be applied as it is only applied to the "private" network mode. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-a-wi-fi-network-public-or-private-in-windows-0460117d-8d3e-a7ac-f003-7a0da607448d RE: IP problem - Doom69 - 2025-01-23 (2025-01-22, 10:51 PM)TheDreadPirate Wrote: During the install, there should have been a prompt to allow Jellyfin through the Windows firewall. RE: IP problem - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-23 If the network interface is already set to private, that is fine. Click on Start > type Resource Monitor > click on the Network tab > expand the Listening Ports table. Find jellyfin.exe on port 8096. What does it say in the Firewall status column? It says it's not allowed, not restricted RE: IP problem - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-24 You need to add a rule in Windows Firewall to allow port 8096 or jellyfin.exe as a whole. The jellyfin installer should have prompted you to add one, but if your account isn't an admin, or isn't always an admin, you would not have gotten that prompt. https://supportcenter.lexisnexis.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1081611/~/adding-exceptions-to-the-windows-firewall |
