Old computer as a Jellyfin server? - I7sReact - 2025-01-22 So, i have this old computer with an: CPU: Intel Pentium E5700 x86-64 RAM: 3GB RAM DDR2 GPU: ATI Cedar Radeon HD, Maybe a 5490 or 5530, since it has 1GB GDDR3 I want to know if this is enough for HD or at least Full HD transcoding Gonna use NixOS with it RE: Old computer as a Jellyfin server? - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-22 The GPU does not have any hardware acceleration capability and the limited RAM and old CPU cores just won't cut it for video transcoding. Honestly, don't bother if you need any kind of transcoding. If you can direct play everything, it is perfectly fine. |
