Tailscale remote access - mihairaul - 2025-01-23 Hello, I looked everywhere and tried everything, therefore I am here asking for your help So, I can access my TrueNAS scale server by using the 100.x.x.x IP address that Tailscale provided for it, but I cannot acces my Jellyfin app remotely. For some reason, {removed-by-mod} also isn’t working, so I’m assuming I did something wrong. On the JF side: checked enable remote connections, entered a ton of LAN addresses (100.x.x.x type), tried checking unchecking port mapping auto. With every setting, I restarted JF. On TS side: everything seems to be working correctly, I can see all the machines there. I had to check “Host Network” at installing; without this option, I couldn’t see the server via 100.x.x.x address. Any thoughts? Sincerely, Mihai RE: Tailscale remote access - jimmyjammy - 2025-01-23 These are my Jellyfin Server settings with Tailscale & it allows me remote access. Check the allow remote connections box, under "Remote IP address filter" add this 100.64.0.0/10 (It's the ip's that tailscale uses. Set "Remote IP address filter mode" to "whitelist" & make sure that "Enable automatic port mapping" is unchecked (not selected). Click the blue "save" button at the bottom & restart the server. Hope that this works for you! JJ RE: Tailscale remote access - mihairaul - 2025-01-29 Thanks for your reply! I didn’t change anything and it begun to run. The only thing is now that I access the servers (jellyfin and file share) through the local area IP address (192.168.x.x). Is this a bad thing? Mihai |
