CD cover gets overridden - taylorren - 2025-01-24

Hi all,

I have quite a few CD collections and I felt it is good to upload hi-res CD covers for those.

The problem is:

  1. Uploaded a hi-res to a CD with Edit Images.
  2. All seem well.
  3. As I have a scheduled task to scan for new medias, the hi-res CD images got overridden.

I probably can disable that scheduled task to keep my CD covers but a manual scan (by Scan All Libraries) will also override any CD covers that I uploaded.

Would appreciate the best way to keep my uploaded CD covers, but also maintain a "real-time" update when I upload anything to Jellyfin media directories (photos, music, movies...)

Thanks!

The best way is to put the image in the same folder as the album. Jellyfin will always prioritize local images and won't overwrite them if you don't configure the library to save remote images. Our documentation for how to name the files is located below.

cover.jpg (or whatever extension you have) for album covers.

Thanks! This solves the issue.
