Show titles for all images? - King Mustard - 2025-01-26 I have a directory, that contains yearly directories - which then contain files. Please see below: I have added the initial directory to Jellyfin as a 'Home Videos and Photos' Library. I can see all the folders in Jellyfin (1996, 1997, 1998 etc) but when I open each of those folders, the images within are not showing the titles by default. Please see below: I have dozens of yearly directories, so it would take a while to go into each one and tick 'Show the title', not to mention every other user on my Jellyfin server would have to do the same. Is this possible to adjust as a default? In addition, when I do use the 'Show the title' option, is it possible to remove the folder name for each image? Please see example, 1998, below: RE: Show titles for all images? - King Mustard - 2025-01-29 (2025-01-26, 02:12 PM)King Mustard Wrote: I have a directory, that contains yearly directories - which then contain files. RE: Show titles for all images? - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-29 Regarding the titles, there is a check box in the library settings called "Prefer embedded titles over filenames". Is that checked? Not sure if checking the above box will remove the folder name. AFAIK, there is no way to sort by the date the photo was taken, which I'm assuming is a metadata tag. If home photos/videos are a big part of your Jellyfin usage, I'd honestly recommend that you consider another dedicated photo app for this use case. https://github.com/meichthys/foss_photo_libraries Because this library type is kind of an after thought. It is a shame. As someone who uses both Windows and Linux, I find that statement a bit surprising. Docker does run on Windows, so it’s a shame if that’s the reason you’re not giving them a try. RE: Show titles for all images? - King Mustard - 2025-01-29 Here is an example quote, specifically from https://immich.app/docs/install/requirements: Quote:Non-Linux OSes tend to provide a poor Docker experience and are strongly discouraged. Our ability to assist with setup or troubleshooting on non-Linux OSes will be severely reduced. If you still want to try to use a non-Linux OS, you can set it up as follows: Windows: Docker Desktop on Windows or WSL 2.Basically almost made me give up trying. I did try installing Docker and following Immich's instructions but was difficult all the way through and never worked. Docker's UI is abysmal and is really hard to use. The FOSS Photo Library projects should have a Windows exe, as Jellyfin does (I am aware they are different softwares with different purposes), or hardly anyone will bother (unfortunately). |
