Music Shuffle - Not a true suffle? - SuitablyDistressed - 2025-01-29 Hi Team, Is it my imagination or could something be causing JF to focus on specific songs in my collection? I have a huge library of music I'm painstakingly digitizing and adding to Jellyfin. Any time I add a chunk of new music, JF seems to really want to play the new stuff. On top of that, There are a handful of songs I hear far too often. Am I just getting lucky/unlucky or is it not a 100% even shuffle of all music? I've tried activating shuffle from the album list and song list but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Otherwise, hot dog Jellyfin is great. Appreciate all the time and effort people are putting in to it. Easy to setup, easy to manage and it's free. Yikes! Thanks. Eddit: Just as I hit post I get yet another Tori Amos song. So I went through a very brief phase and bought a bunch of albums, but come on JF, I don't need a full playthough every day! RE: Music Shuffle - Not a true suffle? - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-29 The shuffle behavior varies by client. I believe the official apps cap the shuffle queue to 200 or 250 songs. Or something like that. Give Finamp (FOSS) or Symfonium (paid) a try on mobile and Feishin a try on desktop. For Finamp, make sure you sign up for the beta (Android) or Testflight (iOS) to make sure you get the re-designed version of the app with a boatload of improvements over the original. I'm not sure what the shuffle queue size is for any of the above apps. But Finamp and Symfonium definitely have larger queues. |
