How to connect to server over Wifi with TV/Phone? - Slurp - 2025-01-30
I have set up a media server on my Windows PC and it works fine. However, when it comes to connecting to the server via other devices on the same network, such as my phone or TV, I am told to put in an address, and regardless of typing, "localhost:8096" or "TheActualServerIP:8096" I get, "couldn't connect to server."

You need the IP address of the server. The term "localhost" will not work on any device other than where you're running the server. Depending on your platform, there are a few different ways to do so.

Thanks for that, managed to get it work. How would you go about it though when you have Mullvad VPN active please?
