Noob, just want to play a video file - [I had 'trailer' in the filename] - HeneryH - 2025-02-11 Total Noob here but I am comfortable in Linux and Proxmox etc. Am I a total idiot here??? I installed on Proxmox using the helper script and I got to the Jellyfin server in no time. Wanting to stick with the most basic first step, I created a directory structure with some video files. I started with the MP4 video files but after failing I created the other formats using ffmepg. Currently looks like this Code: root@jellyfin:/home# tree . And I added the Library in Jellyfin like this: ![]() But I cannot for the life of me get these videos to show up in my library. The library folder is always empty ![]() RE: Noob, just want to play a video file - theguymadmax - 2025-02-11 "Trailer" is a special keyword in Jellyfin. Remove it from your filename or try enclosing it in parentheses.
