Jellyfin Music Clients - Scanner9 - 2025-02-24 Hi guys, I'm tired of music streaming services (I started writing an entire rant explaining why but then figured you probably don't care ![]() My issue currently is that I'm really used to the queue functionality as it's implemented on Spotify, and I couldn't find any Jellyfin music client that behaves the same way. The nuance is that on Spotify, the queue is a different entity to the currently playing list, so when you add one song to the queue it now becomes the next song to play, and when you keep adding songs they are appended to the queue, and when the queue is done playing you're thrown back to whatever playlist / album you were listening to beforehand. This feature is implemented differently on other platforms (e.g. Apple Music), it either adds songs to the end of the "currently playing" list, which means if I'm in the middle of an album they'll be added after the album (I know I can clear the queue before adding songs but I'd like to come back to where I was when the queue finishes playing), or each song added to the "queue" is actually just inserted right after the current song (so if I add multiple songs they play in the opposite order to the order they were added). This is a preference thing, there's no right answer, but Spotify's implementation is the one I'm most used to and makes the most sense to me. Is there a Jellyfin music client (for iOS) that implements the queue in the same way? I checked Finamp, Manet, and Fintunes but as far as I could tell they implement this feature in the ways that I don't like... RE: Jellyfin Music Clients - TheDreadPirate - 2025-02-25 AFAIK, there is nothing on iOS that does what you're asking. On DESKTOP there is an app called Feishin that has some of the queuing functions you're talking about. Obviously that doesn't help you on mobile. https://github.com/jeffvli/feishin If your Jellyfin usage is exclusively music, you should give Navidrome a try. It is a self-hosted app, like Jellyfin, but is focused only on music. https://www.navidrome.org/ https://github.com/navidrome/navidrome/ RE: Jellyfin Music Clients - Scanner9 - 2025-03-03 (2025-02-25, 02:27 PM)TheDreadPirate Wrote: If your Jellyfin usage is exclusively music, you should give Navidrome a try. I'll give Navidrome a shot but I still don't see how I can achieve the queue functionality I mentioned with it. I downloaded Arpeggi for iOS and it seems the queue is pretty much like Apple Music... |
