Media library paths - cookf - 2025-02-26
Hi, I'm new to Jellyfin. I've just installed the server on a test system and was planning to add my music collection in /home/myname/Music and similarly /home/myname/Videos. The option to select this path is not in the drop down, nor is it seen as a valid path if I type it.
Eventually, my movie collection will be under /mnt/library2/movies and my music /mnt/library1/music.
Why does it not recognize this valid path?

Always nice to be able to answer your own question; on my test PC, I have stored my music and photos on an additional hard disk and the default home folder is empty. Jellifin was probably clever and detected no media files in the folder beyond my /home/myname/ path. Sorry. Solved.
