Lose Cast Devices on Upgrade - welshman - 2025-02-26

I'm a novice user who has the Jellyfin server (Version: 10.8.13) on my desktop. I use it to stream onto my Samsung TV using the cast to device icon. Every time I upgrade to a newer version, when I try to cast, there are no devices available. Always had to re-install 10.8.13 to get it working. Is there a setting that has changed?

Casting starting with 10.9 is pretty broken. The Chromecast receiver was updated starting with 10.9 and it broke casting for a lot of devices.

Does your Samsung TV run Tizen OS?

10.8 and 10.9 use the exact same cast receiver so it can't suddenly be broken with 10.9.

Hi. My TV does have Tizen OS. Strange as I've upgraded to various versions, each time having to restore a backup. Tried installing on a separate PC the latest version, same results.

Have you tried using our Tizen OS app? It does require you side load the app, though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm losing all other devices not just the Samsung, so ideally need to fix the server. I will take a look at this though as looks interesting.
