Jellyfin won't run after reboot - cbov - 2025-02-27

Set up my server and had Jellyfin LAN server plus remote access with Tailscale up and running last week. Was working great until a few days ago when my girlfriend was home and got an error while using her laptop for work that was the gist of:

Error message: "Unable to connect to the internet. The network your router is on is too busy. Try restarting the router"

She restarted the router and the internet worked again but since then I cannot connect to Jellyfin. Of note, at the time I was uploading movies from my external hard drive to the NAS, which was a process that had been ongoing for a few days.

Since then I can no longer connect to Jellyfin via LAN or remote settings. At first, I thought it was an issue that the IP changed on reboot, so I switched it back. I can access the NAS but in the docker containers, Jellyfin is disabled (tailscale and portainer continue to run). When I re-enable it, it only stays on for about 10 seconds before switching back off.

I appreciate any and all help you guys could provide. I'm not super technical and don't know how to troubleshoot this on my own after trying to change the IP address, change the port back from 9999 to 8096, and trying to restart the NAS again.

RE: Jellyfin won't run after reboot - cbov - 2025-02-27

Figured it out, can't find how to delete the post. Changed my NAS settings to go back to port 9999. This freed up port 8096 and Jellyfin could run again. In case any other newbs like me come across this issue
