LG TV client forcing me to log in everyday. - Slurp - 2025-03-06

Hi,

I've recently set up my Jellyfin server and it's been working well. However, I've recently been having the issue where the app on my TV forces me to input 'localhost':8096 every evening. When I do put them in, it doesn't always work, and I would have to manually restart Jellyfin on the server for it to work.

Here's the logs with the error: https://pastebin.com/x9RVAaf3

For context, I'm running Jellyfin on Windows 11 and through a Mullvad VPN, and has been the case from the start.

Using localhost probably shouldn't work at all. Because the WebOS client is not running the server. You need the IP address of your *server* in there. So find the IP of your server -- set a static IP address if possible. Then enter that in the server address and I believe there's a "remember" checkbox you can enable. WebOS is my primary client and I have never experienced this particular issue.

Hi

I do write my actual IP in there, I just didn't want to paste the actual IP here for security reasons.

It looks like you have two network interfaces? Does Jellyfin need to bind to both? Is the 10. address a VPN?

I do have Mullvad VPN running on the server, but I'm not entirely sure what that IP address is. I am using the IP address that is visible in the Windows 11 settings to connect to Jellyfin though

If the VPN is enabled, it can be forcing all connections through the VPN and thus the VPN IP. Can you try disabling the VPN or setting up split tunneling so that Jellyfin does not get routed exclusively through the VPN?
