Any way to re-detect trickplays? - TGRubilex - 2025-03-17

I recently changed my naming settings in {app we don't talk about - TDP} and renamed the movies in my library. The problem is that all the trickplay images are no longer detected by jellyfin. I tried renaming the folders they're in to match the new movie file name but that didn't work.

I don't want to regenerate thousands of movies trickplay images, it'll take weeks, is there any way I can have jellyfin detect/rename these?

I’ve renamed my media files before, and all that’s needed is to rename the trickplay folder to match the filename followed by .trickplay. Then, go to the Scheduled Tasks in the Dashboard and rerun the "Generate Trickplay Images" task. This will detect the renamed trickplayfolder.

Note: this applies when the option to save trickplay files next to the media is enabled. I haven’t tried it when the trickplay files are saved in the default library folder.

Oh I hadn't tried rerunning the trickplay generation. And yes I have them next to the media. Thank you!

You wouldn't happen to know an automated way I could have the files rebane themselves via jellyfin or {app we don't talk about - TDP}? Or even via another software?

Tiny Media Manager can mass rename, as can other programs. The kind we don't talk about here.
