introskipper - ototos - 2025-03-25 Hi everyone, I have a question: Is it really necessary to create so many files on Windows just to calculate intros and credits? In the folder C:\ProgramData\Jellyfin\Server\Data\introskipper\chromaprints\, with less than 2TB of TV shows, I’ve already generated over 20,000 files. If I add my 50TB+ library, we’re likely looking at around 500,000 files. Is there a way to avoid this madness? Also, is it possible to export and import this data to another server in the future? I’d like to avoid rescanning everything if I migrate to a different machine. A simple "EXPORT ALL" (plugins included) and "1:1 IMPORT" button would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance! RE: introskipper - TheDreadPirate - 2025-03-25 In the Intro Skipper config, do you have "cache analysis fingerprints" checked? Alright, so to avoid creating tons of small files, should I disable caching? But if I do, what exactly happens? What gets created instead? Unfortunately, the documentation isn't very clear, and for those who aren't fluent in English, understanding all the functionality can be quite challenging. Also, I'd like to know: is it possible to migrate to another PC without losing data? Could I just copy the entire ProgramData folder and expect everything to work properly on the new system? RE: introskipper - TheDreadPirate - 2025-03-25 I THINK it is enabled by default. I did not change this setting on my system and it is already checked. I unchecked it and now it is redoing all the intro skip detection. But it did not remove the existing chromaprint files. I did that manually. Yes, if you would restore/migrate to a new system by copying the entire ProgramData\Jellyfin folder. With caching enabled, though, scanning is quite fast – roughly 3 hours for 2TB of data. Is it possible to shorten the credits duration? The current settings seem excessive – could it be reduced to, say, 10 seconds? RE: introskipper - TheDreadPirate - 2025-03-25 That would be a question for the intro-skipper devs. I left it at defaults since I don't know better. |
