Doctor who naming problem - jellyfin - 2025-03-25

I moved my Doctor Who Specials of the Reboot from a SEASON_00 folder to the seasons folder where they belong to.

Example:

mv -i DOCTOR_WHO_2005_S00E02.mkv ../SEASON_02/DOCTOR_WHO_2005_S02E00.mkv

This puts those specials into the right season.

Within SEASON_00, listed as "Specials", those episodes had the right title and the right description!

After that move, all of them only show the title "DOCTOR WHO" now and the description is suddenly in english and not my selected language.

Anybody ever experienced such a thing?

Any way to fix this?

That isn't going to work.  If you want specials to show in the season they belong to, you can edit the special's metadata to have it appear in the Season it belongs to.

Move the special back to the Specials folder and put it back to the original name.  Once you've rescanned your library you will go to the Doctor Who specials in the Jellyfin UI, find this special and "edit metadata".  Scroll down about half way to find "Special Episode Info".  Put in 2 for "Airs before Season" and 1 for "Airs before episode" to have this special be the first entry in Season 2.
