Firestick - No Servers Found on Local Network - jkbowman - 2023-09-25

Hello all...

Can anyone point me to some instructions for setting Jellyfin up on a Firestick when the app doesn't automatically see the server?

My setup is:
  • Jellyfin installed on Windows 11
  • tp-link  AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Router
  • Jellyfin Firestick App (on three devices)

My apologies for asking such an elementary question.   I feel like this should be easy, but I've exhausted the content on YouTube and can't find an answer here.

Pretend I'm 60, cause I am.  Flushed-face Thanks

You would need to enter the IP address of your Windows 11 machine + port 8096. Something like

http://192.168.1.3:8096

Replace with your actual IP address.

Aye...  Thank you.  Locally, I can enter my IP address and access log-in screen.  But if I enter that same address into the Firestick app it says it can't connect to the server.  It tries http and https.

EDIT:  Well, I just got in.  I found two instances of jellyfin on my firewall.  One instance wasn't allowed.  I changed that and was able to log in on one of the Firestick devices.
