Search for Subtitles feature or plugin? - alex.TTT - 2025-03-27

Hello,

I am tried Jellyfin's search for subtitles feature but it seems it only searches the folder for any existing subtitles files.

Is there, by any chance, a built-in feature or plugin that allows searching for subtitles online? Like VLC's VLSUB feature that allows you to search by name or hash online and immediately download the subtitle?

The Open Subtitles Plugin is probably what you are searching for.
But you probably want to make an opensubtitles.com-account and get the api-key.

Bazaar is also a great app for managing getting subtitles from OpenSubtitles. Regardless, you do need an account and free accounts have daily limits.

Hello, I did install Bazaar a while back.
However, I got lost trying to make it work and at some point I gave up.
I absolutely love JellyFin. I am so thrilled that I don't have to put up with Plex anymore. (Plex is not available without vpn in the country I am at right now.)
Before investing the time in figuring out bazaar again, please, if you can, tell me besides getting subtitles, what are the things that makes bazaar helpful to you?
