Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - 1hitsong - 2025-03-29 Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 has been released. Announcement Blog Post: https://jellyfin.org/posts/roku-300 Release Notes: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-roku/releases/tag/3.0.0 NOTE: * Jellyfin Roku requires a recent version of the Jellyfin Server (10.8 will not work). * For those running on older Jellyfin servers and are not able to upgrade, the Jellyfin Legacy client has been released onto the Roku Channel Store. This is a legacy channel only for old devices/server versions 10.10.x and older, all others should install the Jellyfin channel instead. The Jellyfin Legacy client will not receive updates and is unsupported. Use only if it is impossible to update your server version. RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - John Schinker - 2025-03-29 This caught me a bit off guard. Is there a way to get to the libraries in the new client? I can only see "next up" and "favorites" now. I've been poking around in the settings, but haven't found anything that seems to do the trick. RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - mylinuxguy - 2025-03-29 God... I hate it already. Sorry... but 30 seconds in and this blows. ![]() On the 'Collections' pages, there are no show names? There are titles... but no show names? And the image looks super weird.... all of the images on the Collections page look weird. 'Sophisticated Ladies' is the title for Doctor Odyssey S01E12... but there's no way to know that by looking at this page. All of the thumbnails are partials and I don't recognize the show from the images. This is on a newer 4K Roku Ultra. I am really, really not a fan of this new Roku UI. Can I get the old one back? - Jack RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - 1hitsong - 2025-03-29 (2025-03-29, 01:03 AM)John Schinker Wrote: This caught me a bit off guard. Double check your settings to see if you're using the web client's home section arrangement. If you have it enabled, disable it to use the default Roku sections. Change your view (the right most dropdown) to Grid. You can then choose how the titles will appear by modifying the Item Titles setting. On the home screen, move up and click on your user avatar and select settings. Navigate to User Interface/Libraries/General/Grid View Settings /Item Titles. I did notice a bug when adding a TV series to a collection - it will show all the episodes of the series at the root level of the collection. I've opened a ticket for this and it'll be fixed in the next release: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-roku/issues/202 RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - Tootsier - 2025-03-29 Might be an incompatibility with older server versions. Upgraded from 10.8.13 to current 10.10.something and it looks pretty normal. Before that, it was unusable because I couldn't navigate to anything besides two shows. RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - Revv23 - 2025-03-29 I popped over here after the update just to say THANK YOU! So many great features have been added! The people complaining are just knee jerking. Virtually everything is improved. I can listen to music while browsing for the next song! Meaning its finally a useable music player... +queus, playlists, awesome filters, hot new media screens. My wife actually informed me of the update, she is a normie (as wives can be when it comes to homelab) and she is super geeked about how much easier everything is to do. The only feature im still waiting/excited for on roku is the "suggestions" tab, but i can wait. Thank you again keep up the good work! RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - mc1984 - 2025-03-29 Can someone please help? The forced update has caused my Roku app to only display “Next Up” selections. That’s it. When I select one of the shows, the app crashes. The app is now completely unusable. I am very novice when it comes to the advanced setting and this thing just worked for me before this update. I’ve got countless hours into building this library and this has got me pretty freaked out and frankly pissed off. I’m sure the update is much improved but when something works without issue, it shouldn’t be subjected to a forced update that’s going to require people to lose hours trying to get their system back up and running. Can someone please help me figure this out? Thanks! RE: Jellyfin on Roku 3.0.0 released - Maeriss - 2025-03-29 This same issue is happening with me as well. A few replies above someone else mentioned not being able to navigate to anything and once they updated their server it was fine. |
