Not all actors available - RostigerSpieler - 2025-04-02
I have noticed several times now that sometimes individual actors are not listed by Jellyfin.
Just as an example:
I have the film Top Gun: Maverik on my server. According to Wikipedia and The MovieDB, the following actor plays in this film: ‘Val Kilmer’
If I now enter the name of the actor in the search, I see him listed on Jellyfin. But the film ‘Top Gun: Maverik’ does not appear in the results, even though it is there. I also don't see this actor listed on the film info page in Jellyfin, despite the fact that Jellyfin has fetched the data from TheMovieDB and IMDB.
And I've noticed this a few times over the years with various films.
Could it be that Jellyfin has a restriction on the maximum number of actors shown per film? Or is this a bug?

Go to your dashboard and adjust the TMDb plugin settings to display more cast members. The default is set to 15.
Edit: Are you saying that you don't see his movies that he's in when you click his name?

Thanks for the tip. But it didn't help. I have now increased the number to 100 and then updated the people again. Still not displayed.

After changing the value, you need to refresh the metadata:
Go to your Dashboard->Libraries ->Libraries. Then on the library, select the context menu (3 vertical dots) and scan library. For refresh mode choose "Search for missing metadata".

I have already done this. Changes nothing.

He wasn't on my list at first, but after I adjusted the limit and refreshed (TMDb as the source), his entry showed up. Jellyfin should follow the same order as the full cast and crew that's listed on TMDb.

I don't know what's going on. I did all the scans after the changeover. But it is still not listed. I can only say it as I see it.

It could be a language issue. I've noticed several quirks with TMDb when English isn't set as the default language in Jellyfin. Try going to the dashboard, and in the plugin catalog, download the TVDB metadata plugin. After restarting, set it as the top priority in your library, then rescan your media and see if that helps.

Having this exact issue where the movie Oracle 2023 is missing the actor Olive Abercrombie as role "Blair". If it pull the metadata from IMDB on TinyMediaManager, it will show up but without the profile picture. When I do a scan and update new files it removes her and her profile page no longer shows the movie she starred in. She also stars in MayFair Witches Season 2 and it doesn't show up there either. This has happened in other movies and I only notice because they are main roles in the movie.
