Moving metadata to the files - kiwiconform - 2025-04-03

Initially, I was not sure Jellyfin won't mess up my files. So I installed it, but gave it read-only access to the media folders. It worked like a charm. I have trickplay images, and posters, and everything.

Now I gave jellyfin full access to the folder. And the new files have along the video files all the rest of the data with the name.

Is there a way to move the metadata files from the /cache and /data folders next to the video files?

For trickplays, there is a job you can run to move all trickplays from /config/metadata to your media folders.

Dashboard > Scheduled Tasks > Migrate Trickplay Image Location

This will move all your trickplays from /config to your media folders, but only for libraries where you've selected that they be located with your media.

For images and NFOs, you will have to rescan the library and "replace all metadata" and check "replace all images".
