Grid Style Libraries on TV - cmjrx - 2025-04-04

Hi all,

I have some CSS code which works to display all my Jellyfin libraries in a grid style when viewed using a web browser on a computer but does not when using the native Jellyfin client on my LG smartTV running WebOS.

Would this be something can also be modified for TV as it is heaps better than horizontally scrolling through a single line.

Which box did you put the CSS code? There are two. One is for just the computer you are on, another is for the server to push out to all web clients.

Settings > Display > Custom CSS - This box only applies CSS to the current device
Dashboard > General > Custom CSS - This box pushes CSS out to all devices (that are are jellyfin-web based)

For the record, the WebOS client is jellyfin-web based so server side CSS should apply.

I know that CSS is only working with jellyfin web based clients.

Is there any way to achieve the same for jellyfin on Amazon FireStick? I have a large media library and scrolling horizontally is a pain.

Yes, I noticed that too, the custom CSS does not always apply on TV apps. It would be great if Jellyfin added a native option to display the libraries in a grid, especially on the big screen!

I don't have an Android TV box anymore to check this on, but I know the app has an option somewhere to scroll libraries vertically instead of horizontally. Poke around in the app settings, it's there somewhere
