Use file name for sorting - The_Sebuss - 2025-04-11 Hello ! I'm new to Jellyfin and pretty happy with my setup so far. I would like to know if there's a way to auto use file name for sorting. I know we can add a sorting name in metadata but I'd like to know if it's possible to do it automaticaly. I have a lot of files that are already named as I'd like them to be sorted (ex : Harry Potter 1, Harry Potter 2 etc) Are there some kind of settings or plugin for this? Thank you ! RE: Use file name for sorting - The_Sebuss - 2025-04-11 I found that making a "Movie and Show" library quite do the trick since all movie from a saga already have their own folder so I can sort by release date, but still curious if what I asked exist RE: Use file name for sorting - TheDreadPirate - 2025-04-11 There is a "sorting title" field you can add. When a sorting title is present, that title will be used instead of the main title. Fellowship = Lord of the Rings 1 Two Towers = Lord of the Rings 2 Return of the King = Lord of the Rings 3 Without the sorting title it would be Fellowship, Return of the King, then Two Towers. And you can the same for Harry Potter. |
