Hello all

After many re-builds  of my servers caused by my stupidity, i had to reinstall several times Jellyfin server and Jellyfin client

Most of my movies in my library do present the correct primary image.

I then to the movie and right click and select edit image a list of available images appear, i select one an press on the download button

The image for this movie on the library screen does change.

However once i close Jellyfin client and the reopen it the saved image for that movies is not showing.

What am i missing?

Due to the same cause i have to spend an exorbitant amount of time to change the primary images  for my movies.

Is there a way i can save these primary images (either in the movie folder or in a seperate folder within the dataset). If so where do i change this

Thank you in advance for your help

I get this same thing. Probably half or more of my movies dont have the correct primary image. I changed them all last night to the correct ones but this morning they are back to the wrong images. They have had the wrong images for a while now. Dont know how to fix it.

Do you have images stored next to your media? That may be a way to eliminate unintended replacement of images. You can try locking the media or reducing/eliminating refreshes of metadata as well. I don't have this issue at all, however, most of my metadata comes from outside sources. Once your library is mostly correct, automation of metadata refreshes is almost a moot point -- new media can easily be scanned if you don't already have metadata/images present.

Another thing to try: move the desired metadata provider up the list for fetching images. If you like TVDB better, move it to the top. Fanart? Move it up.

Ok so it was the images inside the movie folder causing problems. If you rename your movies (like with radarr) jellyfin will redownload all the images using the new filename and so I had multiple images for backdrops and thumbs and posters etc as well as multiple nfos so I deleted all files except the movie files and all the images are correct now.

Thank you all for your input

I see the culprit (as mentioned here above) the jpeg is in the folder of thew movies residing on my nas Some of them are incorrect. For example all the James Bon series once copied to the correct folder on the NAS do not have the that i want.

I proceed to identify the movie. Once the meta data is populated, i proceed to refresh metadata excellent. Now for each movie I go to change the image. I select the correct image and save it.

Where does is image new image stored? i do not see it in the movies folder i do not see it in any of the Jellyfin folders in my \app\jellyfin\ directory on my NAS where i installed Jellyfin

If i could identify the location it would be golden. Then i would just need to copy the image from that folder to the movie folder.

@bitmap when you say "You can try locking the media or reducing/eliminating refreshes of metadata as well"

Thank you all
