Setting and displaying correct album artist for an album with multiple artists - Woolie Wool - 2025-05-04 I have a lot of rips of classical records from the '50s and '60s with multiple composers but one conductor in my Jellyfin library, and I frequently use the album artist tag for the conductor but the artist tag for the composer of each track. Jellyfin will always ignore the album artist set in the individual files tags and use the artist with the most tracks as the album artist. There is no provision to set the entire album's album artist in the interface, and Jellyfin appears to ignore attempts to force a specific album artist through manually editing the album.nfo file. How do I make the album artist display as what I want, regardless of the artists of the individual tracks? For instance, I recently added the Living Stereo album LSC-2298 to my library, and in the individual flac files the album artist is set to the conductor of the entire set, Jean Martinon. However, in the library view the album artist is Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, who composed the tracks from the B side of the album. I have spent 20 minutes trying to force it to display Jean Martinon's name with no success. |
