Dark image from jellyfin to TV and PC - st3fun - 2025-05-04 I was watching a movie with 2160p.ATVP.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.Atmos.DV.HDR.H.265 from jellyfin server on PC or on TV. The image is very dark. I tried from dlna on TV and from player on PC and there is a huge difference I have Intel quicksync, HD264, hevc, vc1, hevc10bit, VP9, prefer os native dxva ...., enable hardware encoding, VPP tone mapping, Tone mapping = enabled in server What cand I do ? RE: Dark image from jellyfin to TV and PC - bitmap - 2025-05-04 Recreate the issue and post Jellyfin and ffmpeg logs to privatebin.net. A mediainfo or ffprobe output of the media would be helpful as well. You will 100% notice a difference depending on your client and device. So if one is tonemapping and the other not, this may be the issue. RE: Dark image from jellyfin to TV and PC - gnattu - 2025-05-05 BS player is not playing in correct color as it is not doing tone mapping properly and all HDR color is just washed out and our color is just more accurate. The scene itself is very dark, and for tone mapping, loss of details at very low brightness scenes is not avoidable but can be tuned. If you want higher quality tone mapping you may want to disable VPP tone mapping (if your GPU is fast enough) as our own implementation is more tunable and can produce brighter image if you want. For example, if you prefer brightness than detail, you can try mobius or reinhard tone mapping instead of the default bt2390, or you can reduce the default tone mapping peak from 100 to a lower value like 40 or 60. Please remember that the mentioned settings will have no effects when VPP tone mapping is enabled. |
