FireTv Playback error - bsr - 2025-05-10
Hey all, need some help with an issue for my jellyfin client on my Fire stick tv. Recently I noticed that I can no longer play some of my movies and tvshows on the firestick anymore, it would just crash saying "error" on the tv. But I can play the same movie/ tvshow on my iphone client and web clients just fine. In addition some of the movies that I can no longer play anymore I was actually able to play them about a few months ago on my firestick.
Note: I was able to get the videos to play on the TV if I use an external player (VLC) but then there is no audio. I am running jellyfin via docker. I am running latest version of firestick, and jellyfin server.

Figured it out, It turned out to be an issue with the audio of the files. Here is the issue in case anyone else run into something like this:
Set Jellyfin in Fire Stick TV: Settings -> Playback -> Advanced -> Enable Bitstream Dolby Digital Audio
Set Fire Stick TV : Setting -> Display&Sound -> Audio -> Dolby Digital
